4 thieves cannibalizing motorcycle held

MEYCAUAYAN City — Police arrested four alleged members of a carnapping gang while “cannibalizing” a motorcycle in Bgy. Bancal, here, Tuesday morning.

Bulacan police director Senior Supt. Joel Sabio Orduña identified the suspects as Domingo Villarin, a.k.a. Domeng, 40, single, jobless, of Block 4, Lot 21, Bgy. Batia, Bocaue; Argel Joseph Caalim, 27, married, construction worker, of Tiwala St., Dalandanan, Valenzuela City;  Ramel Malaca, 34, jobless,  of Apitong St., Bancal Ext., Bgy. Bancal, Meycauayan City, and Joey Boy dela Cruz, 20, single, mechanic, of Bancal Ext., Bgy. Bancal, Meycauayan City.

City police chief Supt. Rafmil Corpuz  said that at about 4:50 a.m. Tuesday, a concerned citizen tipped the city police station that four unidentified persons were dismantling a motorcycle in the barangay.

Upon receipt of the information, elements of Meycauayan CPS conducted operations that led to the arrest of the suspects.

Corpuz said the police team recovered dismantled parts of a motorcycle from the suspects.

The dismantled motorcycle was reportedly stolen on June 17 at about 11 p.m. in front of the rented apartment of victim Harold James Teruil Jabat, 31, married, of Bgy. Prenza 1, Marilao.

The arrested persons were placed under the custody of Meycauayan City Police Station. Charges will be filed against them.
